Join Lichfield’s Digital High Street
We hear so much about how the high street is under threat from the on-line world, well Lichfield BID and Stoke and Staffs Growth Hub have come together to enable Lichfield BID Businesses to embrace and join the social media world, opening up a whole new audience for their products and services.
Lichfield is one of a select number of cities across the country to be taking part a new initiative which aims to increase the publicity for High Street shops through social media. Businesses around the city have played their part by simply taking photos of their products and services and posting them to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram alongside the hashtags #WDYT and #LICHFIELD ..
A dedicated team ensure the posts are seen by a wider audience - which has now helped increase the city's digital output. Previously Lichfield was 174 in the country for its amount of digital 'noise' - but latest measurements show the city has climbed to number 23 nationally this week. What an incredible achievement in such a short time, reflecting the incredible contribution from local businesses to this campaign.
Get Involved - No expertise or knowledge is required as we have a team to support anyone who needs help. One to one support is available where you will be given advice and help to open Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts so they you get on board the. Lichfield BID Businesses wishing to take part should register from FREE at www.wdyt.org.uk/lichfield or contact the BID office on 01543 251713. Look out for the hashtags #WDYT and #Lichfield for more information.
Not only do businesses gain help and support to get on various social media channels, they will also received weekly reports that show how well they are doing and the impact of their uploads and the impact this is having for Lichfield as a city.
The digital pilot is a Government initiative and money to run the campaign has been funded by the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership through the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub and also the Lichfield BID who have match funded this initiative.
